Frank Michael Culotta, CTS, CPMR

Frank is a graduate of Villanova University’s School of Commerce and Finance. After three years in the public accounting field, in 1990, he joined Symco as the RSM for the New Jersey and Delaware territory. In 2005, he became President of Symco and in addition to guiding and managing the company, Frank is also:

  • InfoComm Board of Directors; Director-At-Large 2015-2016

  • Current Chairman of Infocomm’s Awards Committee and Steering Committee Member of Independent Rep Council

  • 2009, 2010 Member of Infocomm’s Leadership Development Committee

  • Infocomm 100 Alumni; Class of 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012

  • Past Chair of Infocomm’s Independent Rep Council

  • Current Board of Directors Member/Vice President of IPRO

Greg Cancel, CTS
Metro New York Regional Sales Manager

Greg has been in the Audio Visual Industry since 1985 and has been with SYMCO since 1996. Greg’s a graduate of Kean University with a BS in Management Science with a Marketing concentration. While attending college, Greg got his start in AV working for KVL Audio Visuals, as an AV Rental Technician, working his way up to Site Manager immediately after graduation. Greg then worked as Sales Administrator for AV Bluebook, a national distributor of AV equipment, before joining SYMCO. Greg handles Metro NY: NYC, the boroughs, Long Island & Westchester County.


Jim Hurst, CTS
New Jersey, Eastern NY & Delaware Regional Sales Manager

Jim has held various management positions in the AV industry. Starting in 1991 with PLUS Vision Corporation, where he was responsible for National Sales, and more recently as a Regional Sales Manager with Casio and LG Electronics. Jim's diverse experience in the presentation and display markets has exposed him to a wide variety of resellers, distribution channels and vertical markets in the USA.


Brian Houser, CTS
Pennsylvania & Western NY Regional Sales Manager

Brian has been in the Audio/Video industry for over 30 years. Half of this time has been spent in the video production world as an editor, audio specialist & a live event director and the other time working as a system integration specialist with two Pennsylvania AV system integrators. Brian has had great success selling systems in the Government, Corporate, Production and Higher Education markets. He brings a wealth of practical knowledge, and strong technical ability and sales skills.


Sharon Culotta
MD, VA, WV & Washington D.C. Regional Sales Manager

Having started her commercial AV career with Symco in the early 1990’s, Sharon recently retuned East and rejoined Symco after 13 successful years as an RSM (for several leading manufacturers) and Manufacturer’s Rep in Northern CA. Her almost 20 years of experience in the Commercial AV community – on both coasts, and in both Manufacturer and Representative positions – has provided Sharon with deep and valuable market, technology and sales knowledge. This knowledge makes her an immediate asset to the Symco team, and to the integrators and consultants in the Mid-Atlantic region.


Sheryl Trussell
New England Regional Sales Manager

Sheryl joins us fresh from 5 years at  AVI-SPL (Boston) where she was a leading Account Manager, and for the 5 years prior to that she was a valuable part of the YorkTel sales team.  Prior to that she was a Senior Sales Rep for PictureTel (now Polycom) for 7 years.  These three roles, over 17 years, have allowed Sheryl to amass a lot of technical experience in a variety of categories…and to develop many strong long-term relationships with the consultants, integrators and end users in the New England Region.  She is a career salesperson and we are excited to add her to the team!

Kenneth Mintz, CTS
Field Sales Engineer


Ken joined Symco with over 30 years of experience in AV Integration, 18 of which were spent at Video Corporation of America.  His extensive experience in Audio Commissioning and Open Architecture DSP programming are the perfect foundation for his role on the Symco team.  His primary responsibilities are to be a sales support asset to the area’s integrators via training and when designing audio systems.  Ken has a very strong working knowledge of Biamp’s solutions and is available to train local integrators on the powerful systems they offer.  One of his goals is to encourage Technical personal to receive Biamp Certification for the products they are deploying and provide any assistance necessary to achieve this.

Daniel Pilar, CTS
Marketing & Customer Support Specialist 

Daniel joined us with over 5 years experience in wholesaling... and dealer, rep and customer support. His role is to help us market our manufacturers more effectively, as well as coordinate the Symco Showcases, National Trade Shows and numerous local shows that we do every year. He is also another asset in our pursuit of the highest quality customer support and customer experience.


Frank A. Culotta

Frank graduated RETS Electronics School in Maryland with a degree in Communications Engineering in 1963, then attended University of Maryland majoring in Business Administration. For several years following graduation, Frank worked in the radar field for Westinghouse. Later, while in the United States Army, Frank attended technical school for microwave and transmitters. In 1969, he entered the sales field with MTI, later to become Dage-MTI, a manufacturer of television cameras. Then in 1972 he started Symco with Dage-MTI as his first line.


Doug Cook
New Business Development, IT Channel
Doug joined Symco with 38 years of previous experience in the Broadcast, Teleconferencing and Presentation markets. The first six years working with 3M, then 28 years leading the sales department at Tele-Measurements, followed by three years heading the sales department at Video Corporation of America. Doug’s vast experience in Corporate and Education solutions has proven a great foundation for his role in helping to develop the vast IT consultant and integrator channel that he is now focused on.


Lindsay Sobotka
Marketing Manager
Originally from the North of France, Lindsay comes from a background of Communication Specialist and Graphic Design and graduate in 2016 from Lille University. Utilizing her experience and skills, Lindsay's goal as a Marketing Manager will be to make sure that Symco and Stirling get their messages - and that of their important brand partners - out in the AV industry.
